General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to Pedagogy Scientia: Elementary School Research Journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in another journal. The manuscript must be relevant to the field of elementary school education and must contribute to the development of theory, research, policy, or educational practice. Authors are required to follow the journal template and ensure that the manuscript complies with academic writing standards, research ethics, and publication ethics.

Manuscript Format

• The manuscript must be written in clear academic English or Indonesian.
• The manuscript length is recommended between 5,000–8,000 words, including references.
• The manuscript must be typed using Times New Roman, font size 12, with appropriate spacing according to the journal template.
• The manuscript must be submitted in editable document format, preferably .doc or .docx.
• Tables, figures, diagrams, and images must be clear, numbered, and referred to in the text.
• The manuscript must follow the writing style, citation format, and reference format required by the journal.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be organized systematically and must contain the following components:

1. Title: concise, specific, informative, and reflecting the main issue of the study.
2. Author Identity: full name, institutional affiliation, and email address of each author.
3. Abstract: written in one paragraph, consisting of background, objective, method, results, and conclusion.
4. Keywords: 3–5 keywords arranged alphabetically and relevant to the topic.
5. Introduction: contains background, research gap, novelty, urgency, and research objectives.
6. Method: explains research design, participants or data sources, instruments, data collection, and data analysis techniques.
7. Results and Discussion: presents findings clearly and discusses them critically by relating them to theories and previous studies.
8. Conclusion: provides concise answers to the research objectives and highlights implications or recommendations.
9. Acknowledgement: optional, used to acknowledge funding or institutional support.
10. References: contains all cited sources and follows the journal reference style.

Title

The title must be brief, clear, and informative. It should reflect the main variables, research object, and context of the study. The title should avoid unnecessary words, abbreviations, and overly general expressions. A good title should represent the scientific contribution of the manuscript and attract academic readers in the field of elementary education.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract must be written clearly and concisely in one paragraph. It should contain the background of the study, research objective, method, main findings, and conclusion. The abstract should not contain citations, tables, figures, or undefined abbreviations.

• Abstract length: 150–250 words.
• Keywords: 3–5 words or phrases.
• Keywords should be specific, relevant, and arranged alphabetically.

Introduction

The introduction should clearly explain the background of the study, the importance of the research topic, relevant previous studies, research gap, novelty, and research objectives. Authors should avoid writing a general description that is too broad. The introduction must demonstrate why the study is important and how it contributes to the development of elementary school education.

Research Method

The method section must be written clearly so that other researchers can understand and replicate the research process. This section should be appropriate to the research approach, whether quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, research and development, classroom action research, or literature review.

• Research design or approach;
• Research location and time, if relevant;
• Participants, subjects, or data sources;
• Research instruments;
• Data collection techniques;
• Data analysis techniques;
• Validity, reliability, trustworthiness, or ethical considerations, if relevant.

Results and Discussion

The results must be presented objectively, systematically, and supported by relevant data. Tables and figures should be used only when necessary and must be explained in the text. The discussion must interpret the findings critically by connecting them with theories, previous studies, research context, and the novelty of the study. Authors are expected to explain not only what was found, but also why the findings are important for elementary education.

Conclusion

The conclusion must be written briefly, clearly, and directly related to the research objectives. It should summarize the main findings, highlight the contribution of the study, and provide implications or recommendations. The conclusion should not repeat the discussion in detail and should not introduce new data or new arguments.

Tables and Figures

• Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
• Each table and figure must have a clear title or caption.
• Tables should be editable and not inserted as images.
• Figures must have good resolution and be readable.
• Every table and figure must be referred to and explained in the manuscript text.

Citation and References

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. References should be relevant, up to date, and derived mainly from scholarly journal articles, proceedings, books, or other credible academic sources.

• The journal uses APA Style or the reference style specified in the journal template.
• At least 80% of references should come from journal articles.
• Authors are encouraged to use references published within the last 10 years.
• Every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list.
• Every source in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript text.

Plagiarism Policy

Manuscripts submitted to this journal must be free from plagiarism, duplication, fabrication, falsification, and improper citation practices. The editorial team may check the similarity of submitted manuscripts using plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts with a high similarity score or indications of academic misconduct may be rejected before or during the review process.

Submission Preparation Checklist

• The manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
• The manuscript follows the journal template.
• The title, abstract, and keywords are written clearly and appropriately.
• All author names, affiliations, and email addresses are complete and accurate.
• All citations and references are written consistently.
• All tables and figures are clear, numbered, and cited in the text.
• The manuscript has been checked for grammar, formatting, and similarity.
• The authors agree to follow the journal’s publication ethics and peer-review process.

Submission Process

Authors must submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. The submitted manuscript will undergo editorial screening, plagiarism checking, peer review, revision, copyediting, layout editing, and final publication. The editorial team reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s author guidelines, focus and scope, publication ethics, or academic quality standards.
